The 3M 7010366397 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for blending, finishing, and surface prep on a range of metal and composite substrates. Built on a durable polyester scrim cloth backing, this belt resists stretching under load, making it well suited for consistent, controlled stock removal and finishing work. The non-woven nylon fiber construction with aluminum oxide (AO) mineral and resin bond delivers moderate cutting action without marring or altering the geometry of the workpiece. At 80 inches long and 2 inches wide, it fits standard belt grinder and finishing machine configurations used across fabrication, metalworking, and maintenance trades.
This belt is used in applications requiring surface conditioning without aggressive stock removal — including blending welds, removing light oxidation, preparing stainless steel and brass surfaces, and achieving consistent finish patterns before final inspection or coating. The open web construction resists loading, extending usable belt life even on softer or gummy materials. It fits into multi-step finishing sequences as a mid-process or final conditioning step, and is appropriate for both shop fabrication and field maintenance environments.
Designed for use on standard 2-inch wide belt grinders and surface conditioning machines that accept 80-inch belts. Suitable for use on stainless steel, brass, and a variety of other metal and composite substrates as stated by the manufacturer.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified shop personnel following the belt grinder manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the machine is fully powered off and de-energized before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts and operating finishing equipment.
