The 3M 7010365616 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt built for detail finishing, blending, deburring, and surface preparation on metal workpieces. Constructed with an aluminum oxide grain bonded with resin on a scrim-reinforced nonwoven open web, this belt delivers consistent surface conditioning across a range of applications. Measuring 42 inches in length by 2 inches in width, it fits standard belt finishing machines used in fabrication and manufacturing environments. Licensed metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians rely on this belt for repeatable, controlled surface results where aggressive stock removal is not the goal.
This belt is suited for both flat and contoured metal surfaces, including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other common shop metals. Typical applications include blending weld seams and grind lines, cleaning and deburring edges and corners, setting a grain pattern, and achieving straightline-brushed or fine-finished surfaces. The open nonwoven construction resists loading, making it effective for extended runs on robotic finishing systems as well as manual belt machines. It is sold individually and is appropriate for production shops and job-site fabrication alike.
Designed as a replacement-style surface conditioning belt for standard 2 inch by 42 inch belt finishing machines used in metal fabrication, welding, and industrial finishing applications.
Installation is performed by metalworkers or finishing technicians familiar with belt finishing equipment. Power down and disconnect the machine from its power source before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension according to the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge fraying prior to use and do not exceed the rated operating speed of the machine.
