The 3M 7010365605 Scotch-Brite HS-DC is a high-strength, non-woven abrasive disc engineered for general-purpose surface finishing in trade and industrial applications. Built on a durable open-web construction, this 12-inch disc uses aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive mineral to clean, deburr, denib, defuzz, and produce consistent satin finishes on metal surfaces. The open-web design resists loading and allows the disc to run cool, which keeps the abrasive cutting at a steady rate across the full life of the disc. A 1-inch arbor hole provides secure mounting. Licensed tradespeople and fabricators working in HVAC, plumbing, and general metalwork will find this disc suited to both light prep and heavy-duty finishing tasks.
This disc is intended for use on a wide variety of metals in both residential and light commercial service environments. Typical applications include deburring cut pipe, cleaning weld seams, surface prep before brazing or soldering, and achieving uniform satin finishes on sheet metal or structural components. The conformable disc material follows irregular contours, making it effective on curved or irregular workpieces. Multiple discs can be stacked to cover larger surface areas or to increase aggressiveness on a single pass.
Designed for use with standard disc grinders and finishing machines accepting a 12-inch non-woven abrasive disc with a 1-inch arbor mount. Suitable for aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and other common metals encountered in HVAC, plumbing, and general metal fabrication work.
Install and replace abrasive discs only with the tool powered off and disconnected from its power source. Verify that the disc arbor size matches the tool spindle before mounting, and confirm that the tool RPM rating does not exceed the disc RPM rating. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating abrasive discs. Follow applicable OSHA standards and tool manufacturer guidelines for abrasive wheel mounting and use.
