The 3M 7010365500 is a Scotch-Brite EXL Unitized Wheel designed for smoothing, deburring, and surface finishing on metal alloys, plastics, and composites. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a layered, unitized construction, this 4-inch diameter wheel mounts on a 1/4-inch arbor for use with bench grinders, die grinders, and similar rotary tools. The soft, conformable structure keeps the abrasive in continuous contact with irregular surfaces, making it effective on complex part geometries. It resists smearing and minimizes heat buildup, which is critical when working on heat-sensitive base materials. Sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 10 units.
This wheel is suited for metalworking and finishing applications in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and light manufacturing settings. It handles edge deburring, blending weld seams, and prepping surfaces before coating or inspection. The unitized construction supports both clockwise and counterclockwise rotation, offering flexibility across different machine setups. It performs on steel, stainless, aluminum, and non-ferrous alloys, as well as many plastic and composite substrates. Technicians working in HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in prep, or general shop maintenance will find this wheel suitable for routine finishing tasks.
Designed for use with rotary tools accepting a 1/4-inch arbor, including bench grinders and die grinders used in general metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance applications.
Installation and mounting should be performed by a qualified tradesperson familiar with abrasive wheel safety. Ensure all power is disconnected and the tool is fully de-energized before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the wheel RPM rating before operation. Follow ANSI B7.1 guidelines for safe mounting and use of abrasive wheels.
