The 3M 7010365316 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Film Backed Belt is a non-woven abrasive belt engineered for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring applications across metal fabrication and industrial surface prep work. Measuring 60 inches in length and 19 inches in width, it uses aluminum oxide (AO) mineral bonded with resin to a smooth, tough, stretch-resistant nylon film backing. The film backing reduces friction on the back of the belt, making it well suited for stroke sanders and platen-based operations where consistent belt tracking and reduced drag are priorities. Licensed trades and industrial finishing professionals rely on this belt for repeatable surface results.
This belt is used in industrial and manufacturing environments where surface conditioning is required across a range of metals and other materials. Typical applications include weld blending, scale removal, and pre-finish surface prep on fabricated components. The large 60-by-19-inch format is suited to wide-belt sanders and high-production finishing equipment. Gaps between the nylon fibers allow grinding debris to escape, reducing loading and extending belt life during extended production runs.
Designed for use on wide-belt stroke sanders and platen-based finishing equipment requiring a 60-inch by 19-inch non-woven surface conditioning belt with a film backing.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with wide-belt sander equipment and abrasive belt handling. Power down and lock out the sander before changing belts, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm belt tracking direction against the arrow marked on the belt backing before starting the machine. Inspect the platen and contact roller for wear or damage prior to each belt change.
