The 3M 7010365291 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing, blending, deburring, and surface preparation work on metals. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open-web construction with aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in resin over a scrim backing, this belt delivers consistent material removal without the loading and heat buildup common to coated abrasive belts. The open web structure keeps the abrasive cutting freely across extended runs. Measuring 30 inches in length and 1/2 inch in width, it suits narrow-contact belt tools used in fabrication and finishing operations. Each belt weighs approximately 0.1 pounds.
This belt is used in metal fabrication shops, welding operations, and precision finishing environments where controlled surface conditioning is required. Typical applications include blending weld seams, cleaning oxidation, deburring edges, setting a grain pattern, and achieving straightline-brushed or stainless steel finishes on flat and contoured workpieces. The conformable nonwoven construction allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex profiles, making it well suited for robotic processing lines as well as hand-guided power tool work. Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt tools. Power down and lockout the belt tool before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the tool manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or damage prior to each use and do not exceed the tool's rated operating speed.
