The 3M 7010365290 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Built with an aluminum oxide (AO) grain bonded with resin onto a scrim-reinforced backing, it handles blending, deburring, contour finishing, flat finishing, and stainless steel finishing in a single tool. The open-web nonwoven construction reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing extended run time without glazing or clogging. At 51 inches long and 4 inches wide, it fits standard wide-belt and stroke-sander configurations used in fabrication and finishing shops.
This belt is suited for metal fabrication, weld blending, and surface prep applications in both production and job-shop environments. It performs well on stainless steel, carbon steel, and non-ferrous metals where consistent grain and straightline-brushed finishes are required. The conformable construction allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex contours, making it appropriate for robotic processing lines as well as manual stroke sanding. Technicians use it for removing grind lines, mill marks, and other surface imperfections before final finishing or coating.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use belt for standard wide-belt sanders and stroke sanders accepting a 51-inch by 4-inch belt configuration on metal finishing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified equipment operator familiar with belt sander safety procedures. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Do not exceed the rated operating speed marked on the belt or the machine.
