The 3M 7010364991 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide in a proprietary blend that cuts faster and lasts significantly longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The belt runs on a heavyweight polyester cloth backing rated for high-pressure applications and can be operated dry or with a cutting lubricant. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during aggressive cuts, making this belt a strong choice for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Licensed trade fabricators and metal finishing shops will recognize this as a production-grade consumable built for sustained throughput.
This belt is sized at 74 inches long and 2 inches wide, finished in an orange color coding for quick identification. P120 grit positions it for intermediate finishing work — aggressive enough for efficient stock removal yet refined enough to leave a consistent surface suitable for further finishing steps. It is well suited for use on belt grinders, file belt machines, and inline sanders operating in fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in, and general industrial metalworking environments. The wet or dry capability adds flexibility when working with cutting fluids on stainless or other alloy materials.
Designed for use on standard 2-inch wide belt grinding and finishing machines that accept 74-inch length belts. Suitable for metal fabrication, sheet metal, stainless steel finishing, and general industrial stock removal applications.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel following all machine manufacturer guidelines for belt tensioning and tracking. Power down and lockout/tagout the belt grinder completely before changing belts. Inspect the contact wheel, platen, and belt tracking adjustment before running the new belt at full speed. When running wet, confirm the machine is rated for lubricant use before applying cutting fluid.
