The 3M 7010364989 is a Trizact 307EA coated abrasive belt designed for precision finishing applications in metalworking and fabrication environments. It uses microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to a flexible rayon cloth backing. As the abrasive pyramids wear during use, fresh cutting edges are continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and a predictable finish throughout the belt's service life. The belt measures 132 inches in length and 3/4 inch in width, and weighs 0.11 pounds. It is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing prior to plating or buffing operations.
This belt is intended for use in metalworking shops, fabrication facilities, and automated or robotic finishing lines where repeatable surface finish quality is critical. The flexible rayon cloth backing conforms to contoured and curved workpiece surfaces, making it effective for both flat stock and complex geometry finishing. It is appropriate for applications where the final surface must meet tight finish standards before downstream processes such as electroplating, anodizing, or buffing. Machinists, fabricators, and finishing technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals are the primary installers and operators of this product.
Designed for use on belt grinding and finishing machines that accept a 132-inch by 3/4-inch abrasive belt. Verify drive drum and contact wheel dimensions before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking or finishing technician. Power down and lock out the belt grinder or finishing machine before changing belts, following applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm correct belt tracking and tensioning before resuming operation. Inspect the belt and backing splice for damage prior to each use.
