The 3M 7010364844 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt built around 3M proprietary microreplication technology. Micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform pyramidal structures and bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish across the full life of the belt. This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing work prior to plating or buffing operations. Fabricators, metalworkers, and finishing technicians working with belt grinders and wide-belt sanders are the primary installers and users.
This belt is designed for light-pressure finishing applications on metal and contoured surfaces. The flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to curved and irregular geometries, making it well suited for robotic finishing lines where repeatability is critical. A built-in grinding aid helps manage heat buildup during extended runs, reducing the risk of heat-related warping or surface discoloration on workpieces. It is appropriate for both manual and automated finishing equipment in metalworking, fabrication, and production environments.
Designed as a replacement-style coated abrasive belt for belt grinders and wide-belt finishing machines accepting 118-inch by 2-inch belts. Verify equipment belt-path dimensions and tracking configuration before installation.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified finishing technician or machine operator following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Power down and lock out the belt grinder or finishing machine completely before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking alignment after installation and run the machine unloaded briefly to verify stable tracking before applying the belt to workpieces. Inspect belt seam orientation per machine requirements prior to startup.
