The 3M 7010364708 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for finishing, blending, and surface preparation on metal and other substrates. Measuring 168 inches in length and 6 inches in width, this non-woven belt uses an aluminum oxide mineral bonded in resin to deliver consistent cutting action without aggressively marring the workpiece. The cloth and polyester scrim backing limits belt stretch during operation, making it well suited for applications where dimensional control matters. HVAC fabricators, pipefitters, welders, and metal finishers typically reach for this belt when a controlled, repeatable surface finish is required on stainless steel, brass, or similar materials.
This belt fits wide belt and stroke sanders commonly used in metal fabrication shops, HVAC duct fabrication, and plumbing fixture finishing environments. Its open non-woven web construction resists loading, extending usable service life compared to coated abrasive alternatives. The springy nylon fiber structure conforms to the part geometry, allowing operators to blend welds, remove scale, and refine surfaces while preserving the contours of the workpiece. It is available as a single unit and is suited for moderate-duty sequences where neither the most aggressive cut nor the finest polish is required.
Designed for use on wide belt sanders and stroke sanders that accept a 168-inch by 6-inch non-woven surface conditioning belt. Suitable for use on stainless steel, brass, and similar metal substrates as stated by the manufacturer.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified operator following the sander manufacturer's guidelines. Disconnect and lock out electrical power to the sanding machine before mounting or removing the belt. Confirm belt tracking and tension before resuming operation, and verify that the machine's contact drum or platen is appropriate for non-woven belt use. Do not exceed the belt's rated operating speed.
