The 3M 7010364706 is a non-woven surface conditioning belt designed for blending, finishing, and light material removal on metal and other substrates. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, it delivers moderate stretch resistance suited to consistent, controlled finishing passes. The open-web nylon fiber construction resists loading, which extends usable belt life during production or service work. At 132 inches long and 4 inches wide, it fits standard wide-belt and stroke-sander configurations used in metal fabrication and maintenance shops. This belt is installed and used by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial finishing operators.
This belt is well suited to surface conditioning work on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and other metals where maintaining substrate geometry matters. The springy nylon fiber matrix conforms to the workpiece surface, reducing the risk of gouging or marring while still producing a consistent finish. It fits into multi-step finishing sequences where aggressive cutting is not required but controlled surface refinement is. Typical applications include weld blending, pre-polish preparation, oxide removal, and general metal finishing in both shop and field maintenance environments.
Designed for use on wide-belt sanders, stroke sanders, and similar stationary abrasive belt equipment configured for 132 inch by 4 inch belts in metal finishing and surface conditioning applications.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the equipment manufacturer's guidelines for belt tensioning and tracking. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Verify belt direction arrows align with the machine drive direction before starting. Inspect the platen, contact drum, and backup shoe for wear or damage before mounting a new belt.
