The 3M 7010364698 is a Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Low Stretch Belt designed for controlled surface finishing on metal and other substrates. Built on a durable cloth and polyester scrim backing, this non-woven belt resists stretching under tension, making it well-suited for applications where dimensional stability matters. The aluminum oxide (AO) mineral construction and open non-woven web allow the belt to condition surfaces without loading up quickly, extending service life. At 60 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide, it fits standard belt finishing machines used by metal fabricators, maintenance technicians, and industrial tradespeople.
This belt is used in surface finishing sequences where the goal is to blend, deburr, or condition without aggressively cutting into the base material. It performs well on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and similar metals. The springy nylon fibers conform to the workpiece geometry, maintaining part tolerances while producing a consistent surface finish. It is applicable in both production shop environments and field maintenance settings where controlled material removal is required.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing and surface conditioning machines that accept 60-inch by 1-1/2-inch non-woven abrasive belts. Suitable for use on stainless steel, brass, aluminum, and other metallic substrates.
Installation of abrasive belts should be performed by qualified personnel following the belt finishing equipment manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts. Inspect the belt for tears or damage before mounting, and confirm proper tracking before resuming operation. Follow applicable shop safety protocols including eye and hand protection when operating belt finishing equipment.
