The 3M 7010364532 is a nonwoven silicon carbide unmounted flap wheel designed for surface conditioning, finishing, and blending on metal and hard materials. Measuring 8 inches in outside diameter by 2 inches wide with a 3-inch center hole, it mounts to compatible arbors without additional hardware. The abrasive material is silicon carbide, rated at a very fine grade for light stock removal and surface refinement. A flap density rating of 7 provides consistent contact across irregular or contoured surfaces. Maximum operating speed is 3,200 RPM. Machinists, fabricators, and finishing technicians working with stationary or bench-mounted spindle equipment are the primary installers of this wheel.
This flap wheel is suited for bench-mounted finishing machines and spindle applications where a controlled, consistent surface finish is required. It performs well on metals, composites, and hard plastics where a very fine abrasive cut is appropriate. The nonwoven construction allows the wheel to conform to curved and contoured workpiece profiles, making it useful for blending welds, removing light burrs, and preparing surfaces prior to coating or inspection. The 3-inch center hole accommodates standard spindle arbor sizes common in industrial finishing setups.
Designed for use with stationary spindle finishing machines and bench-mounted arbor setups that accept a 3-inch center hole unmounted flap wheel.
Installation should be performed by qualified machinists or finishing technicians familiar with abrasive wheel mounting procedures. Always power down and de-energize the spindle machine before mounting or removing the wheel. Verify that the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,200 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Inspect the wheel for damage before each use and ensure the arbor and flanges are properly sized and secured before operation.
