The 3M 7010364492 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail finishing work on metal surfaces. Measuring 11 inches long by 3 inches wide, this nonwoven belt uses aluminum oxide (AO) abrasive bonded with resin onto a scrim-reinforced backing. It handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, flat finishing, and stainless steel finishing. The open-web nonwoven construction reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing extended run time without sacrificing surface consistency. Licensed fabricators, maintenance machinists, and industrial finishing technicians install and operate this belt on standard belt grinder and finishing machines.
This belt is suited for both robotic processing lines and manual finishing operations in fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial manufacturing environments. Common applications include blending weld seams, removing grind lines and mill marks, setting a brushed grain on stainless steel, deburring edges and corners, and achieving straightline-brushed finishes on a range of ferrous and nonferrous metals. Its conformability keeps the abrasive in contact with complex contours and irregular part geometries, making it effective in automated as well as hand-held machine setups.
Designed for use on standard belt finishing and grinding machines accepting 3 inch by 11 inch abrasive belts. Suitable for application on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals requiring surface conditioning.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's lockout/tagout procedure before servicing. Confirm belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling and operating abrasive belts. Follow all applicable ANSI and OSHA standards for abrasive product use in your facility.
