The 3M 7010363856 is a full taper cartridge roll designed for precision grinding, deburring, and surface blending on metal and other hard materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive on an X-weight cloth backing, this cartridge roll delivers consistent cut and durability under load. At 80 grit, it falls in the medium grade range, making it well suited for stock removal and surface conditioning in a single pass. The tapered profile allows the roll to conform to contoured surfaces, bores, and ID work where flat abrasives cannot reach. Licensed trades and production floor operators use these rolls with mandrel-mounted die grinders and pneumatic tools.
This cartridge roll is used in metalworking, fabrication, and finishing applications where controlled abrasion is required on inside diameters, slots, and contoured profiles. Typical installations include weld blending, edge deburring on machined components, and surface prep ahead of coating or inspection. The X-weight cloth backing provides the stiffness needed for aggressive contact without tearing under rotational load. These rolls are sold individually but carry a minimum order quantity of 100 units, making them appropriate for shop stock replenishment and production-volume purchasing.
Designed for use with mandrel-mounted rotary tools, die grinders, and similar pneumatic or electric spindle equipment that accepts standard cartridge roll mandrels sized for 1/2 inch maximum diameter rolls.
Installation is performed by machine operators and metalworking technicians. Mount the cartridge roll onto a compatible mandrel following the mandrel manufacturer's specified tightening procedure, and confirm the roll is fully seated before operating the tool. Always verify that the tool RPM rating does not exceed the maximum rated speed of the abrasive roll. Wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when operating rotary abrasive tooling.
