The 3M 7010363848 is a straight cartridge roll abrasive designed for use with mandrel-driven rotary tools in precision deburring, blending, and finishing operations. Built on a cloth backing, it carries an aluminum oxide grain at 50 grit, placing it firmly in the coarse grade range. That combination handles aggressive material removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, welds, and castings. The roll measures 3/4 inch in diameter and is rated for operation up to 16,000 RPM. It is suited to metalworking, fabrication, and maintenance trades where controlled, repeatable stock removal is required in tight or contoured surfaces.
Straight cartridge rolls at this diameter are commonly used in die grinders and pneumatic or electric rotary tools equipped with the appropriate mandrel. Typical applications include weld blending on tubing and pipe, deburring drilled or reamed holes, and smoothing internal radii and contoured surfaces. This coarse 50 grit roll is best applied at early-stage material removal before stepping up to finer grits for finishing. It is used across metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial production environments.
Designed for use with mandrel-style rotary tools accepting straight cartridge rolls at 3/4 inch diameter, including standard die grinders used in metalworking and fabrication applications.
Installation is performed by metalworking or maintenance technicians using a compatible mandrel secured in a die grinder or rotary tool. Ensure the tool is de-energized and disconnected from the air supply or power source before mounting or removing the cartridge roll. Confirm the tool RPM rating meets or exceeds the 16,000 RPM maximum rating of this roll before operation. Inspect the roll for damage before each use and follow applicable ANSI abrasive safety standards.
