The 3M 7010363737 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. This belt uses a blend of 3M ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide, a combination that cuts faster and lasts longer than traditional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing supports high-pressure grinding and can be run dry or with a lubricant, making it well-suited for stainless steel, carbon steel, and other metals. At P100 grit, it delivers a controlled finish between aggressive stock removal and final surface prep. The belt measures 89 inches long by 6 inches wide. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, extending belt life and protecting heat-sensitive base metals.
This belt is used in fabrication shops, weld grinding, pipe finishing, and general metal finishing environments. It performs well in both high-pressure and controlled-feed applications on stationary and portable belt grinders. The ceramic and aluminum oxide grain blend is particularly effective on stainless steel, where heat control is critical to maintaining workpiece integrity. Industrial metalworkers, pipefitters, and fabricators are the primary users. It is sold per belt and requires a minimum quantity of 20 units per order, making it suited for production environments where consistent belt inventory is essential.
Designed for use on stationary and portable belt grinders accepting a 89-inch by 6-inch belt. Suitable for metal finishing and stock removal on stainless steel, carbon steel, and similar ferrous metals.
Install and replace abrasive belts with the grinder fully powered off and unplugged or locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Inspect the belt for tears, fraying, or tracking damage before mounting. Confirm the belt arrow or splice direction matches the grinder rotation direction before operating. Use appropriate eye and face protection, gloves, and respiratory controls when grinding metal.
