The 3M 7010363736 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a proprietary blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breakdown. At 100 inches long and 2.5 inches wide with an 80-grit cut, this belt is well suited for production metalworking, weld blending, and surface conditioning on steel, stainless, and similar hard metals. A built-in grinding aid controls heat buildup during stainless steel grinding, protecting both the belt and the workpiece. The durable resin bond resists heat deterioration throughout the belt life.
This belt fits applications where throughput and belt longevity matter. It is used on stationary belt grinders and wide-belt finishing machines in fabrication shops, maintenance environments, and light manufacturing. The 80-grit designation makes it appropriate for aggressive material removal followed by intermediate blending passes. It runs effectively both dry and with a compatible lubricant or coolant, giving operators flexibility when working with heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel, titanium, and aluminum alloys.
Designed for use on belt grinders and wide-belt finishing machines accepting 100-inch by 2.5-inch abrasive belts. Verify machine belt-size specifications before installation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and de-energize the grinder completely before changing belts. Inspect the contact wheel, idler, and tracking mechanism for wear before mounting a new belt. Confirm belt tracking and tension at low speed before returning the machine to full production use.
