The 3M 7010363434 is a coated abrasive cloth belt engineered for high-performance metal finishing and stroke sanding applications. Built on an X-weight cotton backing, this belt combines a blend of ceramic aluminum oxide grain with a grinding aid and anti-friction backing to deliver consistent cut rates, reduced heat buildup, and long belt life. At 264 inches long and 6 inches wide with an 80 grit rating, it is sized for large-format stroke sanders and wide-belt machines used in production metal finishing environments. Fabricators, metalworkers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers and operators.
This belt is suited for stroke sanding and finishing on a wide range of metal substrates, with particular strength on demanding materials such as nickel alloys and stainless steel. The ceramic aluminum oxide grain blend maintains a sharp cutting edge longer than conventional aluminum oxide belts, making it a practical choice for high-volume metal fabrication shops, weld blending operations, and surface preparation before coating or inspection. The grinding aid embedded in the abrasive layer actively works to lower surface temperatures during aggressive stock removal passes.
Designed for use on large-format stroke sanders and wide-belt abrasive machines that accept belts measuring 264 inches in length and 6 inches in width. Suitable for metal finishing applications on stainless steel, nickel alloys, and similar hard metal substrates.
Belt installation and tensioning should be performed by a qualified operator following the machine manufacturer's guidelines for belt tracking and tension settings. Power down and lock out the sanding machine before mounting or removing the belt. Inspect the belt for tears, edge fraying, or splice separation before each use and do not operate a damaged belt. Ensure the machine's contact platen and idler rollers are free of debris before mounting to avoid uneven wear or belt failure.
