The 3M 7010363104 is an alumina zirconia coated abrasive belt designed for high-production grinding, blending, and finishing operations. The 577F designation identifies the alumina zirconia mineral blend, which cuts faster and runs cooler than standard aluminum oxide belts. At 132 inches long and 2 inches wide with a 50-grit grade, this belt is built for aggressive material removal on metal substrates. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is water-resistant and engineered to hold up under high-pressure contact and demanding edge-work applications. Licensed trades and fabrication shops rely on this format for consistent stock removal without premature belt breakdown.
This belt is suited for use on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including aluminum and stainless steel, where heat buildup is a concern. The alumina zirconia grain with integrated grinding aid keeps cutting temperatures low, reducing the risk of heat discoloration or surface stress on sensitive workpieces. It is commonly run on wide-belt sanders and stationary belt grinders in fabrication shops, weld prep operations, and metal finishing lines where high-volume throughput is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or production abrasive for belt grinders and wide-belt sanders accepting 132-inch by 2-inch abrasive belts.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the machine before changing belts, following OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rated for the belt and machine combination.
