The 3M 7010362993 is a fast-drying contact adhesive formulated for bonding and sealing automotive weatherstripping. It is engineered to adhere to EPDM rubber, one of the most common materials used in door seals, trunk seals, and window channel gaskets. Once cured, the bond remains flexible and waterproof, resisting the temperature swings and moisture exposure that automotive seals routinely face. The adhesive comes in a 5 oz tube and dries black, blending cleanly with standard weatherstrip profiles. Auto body technicians, detailers, and service professionals rely on this product for weatherstrip replacement and reattachment work on passenger vehicles and light trucks.
This adhesive is suited for automotive and light-duty transportation applications where EPDM or similar elastomeric weatherstripping has separated from door frames, trunk lids, hoods, or body panels. It is appropriate for both shop and field repair scenarios. The tube format allows for controlled application along narrow bonding surfaces, reducing mess and material waste during installation. It is sold individually, with a minimum order quantity of 6 units per order.
Designed for bonding EPDM rubber weatherstripping to automotive body panels, door frames, trunk lids, and similar surfaces on passenger vehicles and light trucks. Confirm substrate compatibility before use on non-EPDM materials.
Surface preparation is critical before applying contact adhesive — clean both mating surfaces thoroughly to remove dirt, oil, and old adhesive residue. Apply a thin, even coat to both surfaces, allow the adhesive to become tacky per the product drying window, then press firmly together for a strong initial bond. Work in a well-ventilated area, as solvent-based adhesives produce fumes during application and cure. No special tools are required beyond a clean applicator or the tube tip itself.
