The 3M 7010362606 is a Cubitron II 784F cloth abrasive belt engineered for medium-pressure grinding and blending on metal surfaces. It measures 132 inches long and 1 inch wide, runs at 50 grit, and uses 3M Precision-Shaped Grain technology — a proprietary blend of shaped ceramic and premium aluminum oxide minerals. This combination delivers a faster, more consistent cut and longer belt life compared to conventional ceramic aluminum oxide belts. A durable resin bond resists heat-related deterioration, and an integrated grinding aid helps keep abrasive temperatures down on heat-sensitive alloys. Licensed trade fabricators, weld-prep technicians, and production grinding operators are the primary users.
This belt is suited for production environments where throughput and consistent cut rate matter. It performs on both straight and contoured workpieces, making it applicable to grinding, blending, and finishing operations across a range of metal alloys. The waterproof backing supports both wet and dry applications. The YF-weight polyester backing used in this 50-grit configuration provides moderate flexibility for conformability on complex geometries. It is particularly well-suited for robotic and pressure-assisted grinding systems where reduced changeout frequency directly impacts cycle time and labor cost.
Designed for medium-pressure grinding and blending applications on all metals, including heat-sensitive alloys, in both wet and dry conditions. Suitable for use in robotic, pressure-assisted, and manual belt grinding setups.
Installation should be performed by trained fabricators or grinding equipment operators following the machine manufacturer's belt-tracking and tensioning procedures. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the belt. Confirm belt direction-of-travel arrow aligns with wheel rotation before startup. Inspect the platen, contact wheel, and belt-drive components for wear or contamination prior to each belt change.
