The 3M 7010362581 is a Cubitron II 966F coated abrasive belt engineered for aggressive material removal and controlled surface finishing on metal. It uses 3M precision shaped ceramic grain bonded to a water-resistant Y-weight polyester cloth backing. The shaped grain continuously fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, delivering a fast, consistent cut rate across the full life of the belt. At 108 inches long and 4 inches wide with a 60-grit rating, this belt is suited for high-production grinding and finishing operations on stainless steel, titanium, and high-nickel alloys. Licensed metalworking shops and fabrication teams rely on it for both wet and dry applications.
This belt is intended for use on stationary belt grinders and wide-stroke sanders in metal fabrication, aerospace component finishing, and industrial surface preparation environments. The 60-grit designation makes it appropriate for aggressive stock removal and intermediate finishing passes on difficult-to-grind alloys including stainless steel, titanium, and other high-nickel materials. The resin bond system resists heat buildup, which helps prevent surface discoloration on heat-sensitive metals. It can be run with liquid lubricants or coolants without degradation of the backing or bond.
Designed for use on belt grinders and stroke sanders that accept 108-inch by 4-inch abrasive belts in metal fabrication and industrial finishing applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Verify the grinder or sander is powered down and locked out before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension per the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Observe all applicable shop safety and PPE requirements when working with abrasive products on metal substrates.
