The 3M 7010361902 is a coated abrasive belt designed for wide belt and edge sanding applications in woodworking environments. Built on a heavyweight cloth backing, this belt handles both rough material removal and final finishing passes. The abrasive mineral is a premium grade aluminum oxide applied in an open coat pattern with an anti-static treatment, which reduces loading and maintains cut rate throughout the belt's service life. A resin bond system holds the mineral under high heat and pressure, extending usable life in demanding production settings. Licensed tradespeople and millwork shop operators are the primary users of this belt format.
This belt is suited for wide belt sanders and edge sanders used in residential and commercial woodworking production. The open coat construction makes it particularly effective on resinous woods such as pine, where pitch and sap loading would shorten the life of a closed coat product. The washable cloth backing allows cleanup between uses when sanding high-pitch species, preserving abrasive life. At 80 grit, this belt bridges coarse stock removal and intermediate finishing stages.
Designed for use on wide belt sanders and edge sanding machines that accept belts measuring 75 inches in length and 52 inches in width.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator following the sander manufacturer's guidelines. Power down and lock out the sander before changing belts. Verify belt tracking direction arrows align with the machine's drive direction before startup. Inspect the platen and rollers for debris or damage before seating the new belt.
