The 3M 7010361445 is a coated abrasive belt designed for stroke sanding and metal finishing across a range of metal substrates. This belt measures 48 inches in length and 6 inches in width, carries a 60-grit rating, and is built on an X-weight cotton cloth backing. The abrasive layer combines ceramic grain with aluminum oxide, delivering an aggressive cut rate alongside extended belt life. A grinding aid is incorporated into the construction to manage heat buildup during sustained material removal. Fabricators and metal finishing technicians working with stainless steel, nickel alloys, and similar metals are the primary installers and users of this belt.
This belt is suited for stroke sanding operations in fabrication shops, manufacturing environments, and metal service centers. Its X-weight backing handles the mechanical stress of high-pressure sanding and grinding cycles without delaminating or stretching. The anti-friction backing treatment allows the belt to track smoothly on stroke sanders and wide-belt machines. Applications include weld seam blending, surface conditioning, and finish work on flat and near-flat metal parts. It is sold individually and is a direct replacement wherever a 48-inch by 6-inch, 60-grit ceramic cloth belt is specified.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for stroke sanders and wide-belt machines accepting a 48-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation should be performed by a qualified operator with the sanding machine fully powered down and locked out per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Confirm belt tracking direction before powering on, as most abrasive belts are directional — check the arrow printed on the inner surface. Inspect the contact drum or platen for wear or debris before mounting. Do not exceed the speed rating marked on the belt or the machine manufacturer's RPM limit.
