The 3M 7010361432 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing operations in metalworking and fabrication environments. It uses 3M microreplicated pyramid technology, in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into uniform pyramidal structures bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and predictable fine finish across the full life of the belt. The belt measures 118 inches in length by 4 inches in width and is well suited to high-production and robotic finishing lines.
This belt is intended for light-pressure applications on metal surfaces prior to plating or buffing. The flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to contoured and complex workpiece geometries, making it practical for finishing curved or profiled parts. The integrated grinding aid helps dissipate heat during contact, reducing the risk of heat-related warping or surface discoloration on sensitive workpieces. Its consistent performance characteristics make it a reliable choice for automated and robotic abrasive systems where repeatable results are critical across high part volumes.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines and robotic abrasive systems that accept a 118-inch by 4-inch abrasive belt. Best suited for metalworking applications involving light-pressure intermediate finishing and pre-plate polishing.
Install on compatible belt grinding or finishing equipment following the machine manufacturer's belt-tracking and tensioning procedures. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before changing belts. Verify belt direction of travel arrows align with machine rotation before powering on. Inspect the contact wheel and platen for wear or debris that could cause uneven belt loading or premature failure.
