The 3M 7010361414 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for precision intermediate finishing and fine polishing applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology in which micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramid tips wear, fresh abrasive mineral is continuously exposed, delivering a consistent cut rate and a repeatable fine surface finish throughout the life of the belt. The cloth backing provides the flexibility needed to follow contoured workpiece surfaces without compromising finish consistency.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing operations. The three-dimensional abrasive structure makes it well matched to robotic and automated finishing applications where uniform, predictable results are required across high production volumes. It is also used in manual grinding and finishing operations in metalworking, fabrication, and surface preparation environments where a finer finish than conventional electrostatically coated abrasives is required.
Designed as a coated abrasive belt for use on belt grinders and finishing machines accommodating a 107-inch length by 8-inch width belt in metalworking and surface finishing applications.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify the belt tracking direction and tension per the machine manufacturer specifications before operating. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace if the abrasive layer shows uneven wear that could affect finish quality.
