The 3M 7010360824 is an open-coat aluminum oxide cloth abrasive belt engineered for aggressive stock removal on wood and metal surfaces. Built on a heavyweight cloth backing with a resin bond construction, this belt handles the heat and pressure of high-production environments without breaking down prematurely. At P100 grit, it sits in the medium range — fast enough for meaningful material removal, fine enough to leave a workable surface. The open-coat design actively resists loading, keeping the belt cutting rather than glazing over. The backing is washable, extending usable life on high-loading substrates like pine.
This belt is suited for wide belt sanding machines, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders used in woodworking shops, metal fabrication, and general finishing operations. The 48-inch length and 6-inch width fit a wide range of industrial and professional-grade sanding equipment. P100 grit makes it a practical choice for initial surface prep, paint or coating removal, and weld blending on metal, as well as dimensioning and smoothing on solid wood and wood composites.
Designed for use on wide belt sanders, edge sanders, and portable belt sanders that accept a 48-inch by 6-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for use on wood, wood composites, and metal surfaces.
Installation of abrasive belts should be performed with the machine powered off and the power source locked out. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the sander manufacturer's specifications before operation. Inspect the belt for tears or delamination prior to each use and replace if damage is found. Always follow applicable workplace safety guidelines when operating belt sanding equipment.
