The 3M 7010360308 is a Trizact 237AA coated abrasive belt designed for intermediate finishing and fine polishing in metalworking applications. It uses 3M microreplication technology, where micron-graded aluminum oxide particles are formed into three-dimensional pyramids and bonded to an X-weight cloth backing. As the pyramids wear down during use, fresh sharp mineral is continuously exposed, producing a consistent cut rate and a predictable fine finish throughout the belt's service life. At 24 inches long and 1/2 inch wide, it fits standard narrow-belt finishing machines used in production and job-shop environments.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing steps prior to plating or buffing operations on metal parts. The flexible cloth backing conforms to contoured surfaces, making it effective on complex geometries. Its three-dimensional abrasive structure delivers repeatable, uniform surface finishes, which is especially valuable in robotic and automated finishing lines where consistency across cycles is critical. It is also used in manual belt finishing operations where a controlled, predictable finish is required before downstream surface treatments.
Designed for use on standard narrow-belt finishing machines that accept 24-inch by 1/2-inch abrasive belts; appropriate for metalworking finishing operations including pre-plate and pre-buff preparation.
Installation should be performed by a qualified metalworking or machine operator following the belt grinder or finishing machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and lockout/tagout procedures are followed before changing belts.
