The 3M 7010360298 is a coated abrasive belt designed for stock removal and metal finishing on production grinding equipment. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a proprietary blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing is built to handle high-pressure contact wheel and platen applications. A durable resin bond resists heat deterioration, and a built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup when working stainless steel. The belt can be run dry or with lubricant. It measures 132 inches in length and 2.5 inches in width with a 60-grit cut rate and weighs 0.79 pounds.
This belt is suited for metal fabrication, weld blending, deburring, and surface conditioning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The orange-colored 777F series is a common choice in applications where heat-sensitive metals are involved, including stainless steel, high-nickel alloys, and other work-hardening materials. The heavyweight cloth construction holds up under sustained pressure on wide-contact-wheel and slack-section setups commonly found in fabrication shops and industrial finishing lines.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit abrasive belt for industrial belt grinders and finishing machines accepting 132-inch by 2.5-inch coated abrasive belts.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with the specific belt grinder or finishing machine in use. Ensure the machine is fully powered down and locked out before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE including eye protection and gloves when handling and installing abrasive belts.
