The 3M 7010360161 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive stock removal and metal finishing in industrial and trade applications. It combines 3M Ceramic Abrasive Grain with aluminum oxide to deliver faster cutting action and longer service life compared to conventional aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down, and the belt runs equally well dry or with lubricant. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup during operation, making this belt effective on heat-sensitive metals including stainless steel. Measuring 148 inches in length and 1 inch in width, with a 36 grit rating, it is suited to heavy-duty material removal tasks on stationary belt grinders.
This belt is intended for metalworking environments where consistent cut rate and extended belt life reduce downtime and changeover frequency. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and stock removal on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 36 grit makes it appropriate for initial grinding passes rather than fine finishing. It is commonly used by fabricators, pipefitters, and maintenance machinists operating industrial belt grinding equipment. The orange backing identifies the 777F series within the 3M abrasives line.
Designed as a replacement or production coated abrasive belt for stationary belt grinding machines accepting a 148-inch by 1-inch belt size.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with belt grinder maintenance. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or replacing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Eye protection, gloves, and appropriate respiratory protection are recommended during belt changes and grinding operations.
