The 3M 7010360145 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down, and the belt can be run dry or with a lubricant depending on the application. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, making it well suited for heat-sensitive metals such as stainless steel. Licensed trades and fabrication shops use this belt where consistent cut rate and belt life directly affect throughput.
This belt is designed for use on stationary and portable belt grinders in metal fabrication, weld grinding, and surface finishing operations. The 40-grit designation makes it appropriate for aggressive stock removal on carbon steel, stainless steel, and other metals. It performs particularly well in high-pressure applications where a standard aluminum oxide belt would wear prematurely or generate excessive heat. Both wet and dry operation are supported, giving operators flexibility based on material and equipment.
Designed as a direct-fit coated abrasive belt for belt grinders and finishing machines accepting a 1-inch wide by 30-inch length belt configuration.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Confirm the grinder is powered off and fully de-energized before changing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the grinder manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage before each use and replace immediately if defects are found.
