The 3M 7010360123 is a coated abrasive belt engineered for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It uses a blend of ceramic abrasive grain and aluminum oxide that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down and can be run dry or with a lubricant. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, making this belt well suited for stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Licensed trade fabricators and metal finishers will find it reduces belt change frequency on production grinding operations.
This belt is intended for industrial and fabrication shop use where consistent cut rate and belt life matter. Typical applications include weld blending, surface conditioning, and finish grinding on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. At 360 inches long and 6 inches wide with a P180 grit rating, it fits wide-contact and stroke-sander configurations common in metal fabrication. The P180 grit delivers a fine-to-medium cut suitable for finishing passes after coarser stock removal. The orange-colored belt runs on standard coated-abrasive belt machinery.
Designed as a wide-format coated abrasive belt for use on belt grinders and stroke sanders configured for 360-inch by 6-inch belts in metal fabrication and finishing environments.
Installation should be performed by qualified machine operators familiar with coated abrasive belt equipment. Confirm belt tracking and tension settings match machine specifications before operating. Inspect the splice joint for integrity before mounting, and ensure the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before changing belts. Run the belt at the speed range recommended by the machine manufacturer to avoid overheating or belt failure.
