The 3M 7010359946 is a Trizact 217EA coated abrasive belt built around 3M proprietary microreplication technology. Micron-graded aluminum oxide mineral is formed into uniform pyramidal structures and bonded to a JE-weight rayon cloth backing. As the pyramids wear during use, fresh, sharp mineral is continuously exposed at the cutting face. The result is a consistent cut rate and a predictable, fine surface finish maintained throughout the full life of the belt. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, limiting the risk of heat-related warping or discoloration on finished workpieces.
This belt is suited for intermediate finishing and fine polishing work prior to plating or buffing operations. The flexible JE-weight rayon backing conforms to contoured and irregular surfaces, making it effective on complex geometries. The consistent, repeatable performance of the microreplicated structure makes this belt a strong candidate for robotic and automated finishing lines where predictability and belt longevity are critical. It is also appropriate for light-pressure manual applications where the goal is a controlled, fine finish.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines accepting a 148-inch by 2-inch abrasive belt. Suitable for light-pressure finishing operations on metal workpieces requiring fine surface preparation prior to plating or buffing.
Installation should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the finishing machine before mounting or removing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension per the machine manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use.
