The 3M 7010359772 is a coated abrasive belt designed for demanding stock removal and metal finishing applications. It combines ceramic abrasive grain with aluminum oxide in a blend that cuts faster and lasts longer than standard aluminum oxide belts. The heavyweight polyester cloth backing handles high-pressure grinding without breaking down, and the belt can be run dry or with a lubricant depending on the application. A built-in grinding aid reduces heat buildup, making this belt well suited for work on stainless steel and other heat-sensitive metals. Fabricators, weld shops, and metal finishing shops are the primary users.
This belt is built for aggressive material removal on metal surfaces including stainless steel, carbon steel, and similar alloys. At 60 inches long and 4 inches wide with an 80 grit rating, it fits standard wide-belt and stroke-sander configurations used in industrial and job-shop environments. The orange backing and resin bond system are engineered to resist heat deterioration across extended run cycles, supporting longer intervals between belt changes and higher parts output per belt.
Designed for use on wide-belt sanders and stroke sanders accepting a 60-inch by 4-inch coated abrasive belt, typically in metal fabrication, weld finishing, and industrial grinding applications.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the machine manufacturer's guidelines for belt tension, tracking, and guard positioning. Confirm the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before changing the belt. Inspect the contact wheel or platen for wear or debris before seating a new belt. Run the belt at manufacturer-specified surface footage and avoid forcing the belt beyond its rated pressure range to prevent premature failure.
