The 3M 7010359431 is a coated abrasive disc designed for aggressive material removal in professional finishing and fabrication work. Built on heavy E-weight paper backing, it delivers durability under sustained pressure and high-speed grinding conditions. The ceramic aluminum oxide mineral cuts fast and resists breakdown longer than standard aluminum oxide, making it well suited for high-productivity applications where cycle time matters. At 6 inches in diameter and 36 grit, this disc is engineered for coarse stock removal. It uses a Stikita pressure-sensitive adhesive attachment system for quick disc changes without tools. Licensed trades and bodywork technicians are the primary installers.
This disc is used in automotive bodywork, metal fabrication, woodworking, and plastic composite shaping. Common applications include stripping paint to bare metal, leveling body filler, shaping plastic filler, and aggressive surface preparation before primer or topcoat. The 36-grit coarse cut is appropriate for initial material removal stages rather than finish sanding. Discs are sold by the box with a minimum order quantity of 4 boxes, making them practical for shop stocking.
Designed for use with 6-inch PSA (Stikita-compatible) random orbital sanders and disc grinders that accept pressure-sensitive adhesive backed abrasive discs.
Disc changes should be performed with the tool powered off and unplugged or with the air supply disconnected. Ensure the backing pad is clean and free of debris before attaching the disc to maintain full adhesive contact. Do not exceed the maximum RPM rating of the sander or grinder being used. Worn or damaged backing pads should be replaced before mounting a new disc to prevent uneven wear or disc separation.
