The 3M 7010353425 is a precut floor surfacing disc designed for drum and edge sanders used in hardwood floor sanding and refinishing work. Built with a sharp, fast-cutting synthetic mineral abrasive bonded to a tough, flexible paper or combination backing, this disc removes old finish, levels surface irregularities, and prepares wood floors for coating. At 6.875 inches in diameter with a 0.875-inch center hole and a 100-grit cut, it delivers a consistent scratch pattern suited for intermediate sanding passes on residential and light commercial flooring projects. Flooring contractors and finish carpenters are the primary installers of this consumable.
This disc is used in floor sanding applications where a controlled, even material removal rate is needed across large surface areas. The 100-grit rating makes it appropriate for second-pass sanding after coarser stock removal or for prep sanding before the first sealer coat. The flexible backing conforms to minor surface variations, reducing chatter marks and improving finish uniformity on solid hardwood, engineered wood, and some softwood floor species.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement disc for floor sanding equipment that accepts 6.875-inch precut surfacing discs with a 0.875-inch center hole.
Installation and replacement of floor sanding discs is performed by licensed flooring contractors or experienced tradespersons. Disconnect or power down the sanding machine completely before changing discs, and confirm the disc is seated and secured per the equipment manufacturer's instructions before restarting. Personal protective equipment including dust mask or respirator rated for wood dust, eye protection, and hearing protection should be worn during operation. Dispose of used discs according to local regulations, particularly when sanding floors that may contain lead-based finishes in older structures.
