The 3M 7010350315 is a thick-wall heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed for electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding environments. Sold as a single 48-inch length, this sleeve is manufactured from flame-retardant polyolefin and is rated to 1 kV. It comes factory-applied with an internal adhesive sealant that bonds to the cable jacket during shrink, creating a moisture-resistant seal. The sleeve is engineered for fast shrink times to support efficient installation in the field. Its construction provides mechanical protection and environmental sealing for wire gauges in the 12-6 AWG range.
This cable sleeve is suited for residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work wherever splices, joints, or terminations require both dielectric protection and environmental sealing. It is appropriate for use in conduit runs, junction points, and cable repair applications. The black color and MSHA-rated designation indicate suitability for use in mining and similarly regulated environments. Electricians and cable installers use this sleeve wherever a thick-wall, adhesive-lined heat shrink solution is specified.
Designed for use with 12-6 AWG conductors requiring thick-wall heat shrink protection at voltages up to 1 kV. Listed under MSHA designation for applicable regulated environments.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians following applicable NEC requirements. Power down and de-energize all circuits before applying the sleeve to any splice or termination. Use a calibrated heat gun rather than an open flame to achieve uniform shrink without scorching the sleeve or underlying insulation. Ensure the adhesive sealant has fully flowed and set before restoring power to the circuit.
