The 3M 7010348868 is a heavy-wall, flame-retardant heat shrinkable cable sleeve designed to protect electrical splices, connections, and terminations in demanding service environments. Constructed from cross-linked polyolefin, this sleeve delivers mechanical and environmental protection against moisture, abrasion, and contamination. The 48-inch length comes with a factory-applied adhesive and sealant liner that flows during shrink to create a moisture-resistant seal. Fast shrink response reduces installation time on the bench or in the field. The sleeve meets MIL-DTL-23053/15, Class 1 qualification, making it suitable for aerospace, industrial, and commercial electrical applications. Licensed electricians and maintenance technicians are the primary installers.
This cable sleeve is suited for use in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical work where reliable insulation and environmental sealing of conductors, splices, and multi-conductor harness terminations are required. The red color supports color-coded cable management and visual identification in panel and harness builds. Each unit is sold as a single 48-inch sleeve. The heavy-wall construction and high split resistance make this sleeve a dependable choice in applications where physical abuse or vibration exposure is a concern.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard-use heat shrink sleeve for electrical splice protection and termination sealing. Order in the size equivalent to the expanded inside diameter required for the target conductor or bundle.
Installation is performed by licensed electricians or qualified electrical technicians. De-energize all circuits and follow applicable NEC lockout and tagout procedures before applying the sleeve to any splice or termination. Use a heat gun calibrated to the appropriate shrink temperature range for polyolefin material. Do not use an open flame as a heat source, as uneven heating can cause incomplete adhesive flow or damage to the sleeve wall.
