The 3M 7010334586 is a general purpose PTFE glass cloth tape, sold as the 5153L series, designed for high-performance release and surface protection in industrial and trade applications. The tape features a fiberglass cloth substrate fully impregnated with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) and coated on one side with a silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive on a liner. It measures 6 inches wide by 36 yards long at a total thickness of 6.8 mil. The PTFE construction delivers a slick, low-friction surface combined with strong tensile strength, puncture resistance, abrasion resistance, and low moisture absorption. The linered format makes it suitable for precision die cutting in fabrication environments.
This tape is commonly installed on heat sealing machines, process equipment, conveying chutes, troughs, and ducts where easy product release and long-lasting surface protection are required. It performs well across industrial production environments where chemical resistance and thermal durability are priorities. The silicone adhesive provides secure bonding to metal and smooth substrates, while the PTFE face layer maintains a non-stick working surface over extended service cycles. Maintenance technicians and equipment fabricators in food processing, packaging, and general manufacturing typically apply this tape as part of scheduled equipment servicing or new equipment build-outs.
Designed for use on heat sealing machines, process equipment, conveying chutes, troughs, and ducts requiring a durable PTFE release surface.
Application should be performed by maintenance technicians or equipment fabricators familiar with surface preparation and adhesive tape bonding. Clean and dry the substrate surface before applying to ensure full adhesive contact. Power down or de-energize any equipment before applying tape to moving or heated components. When die cutting, use the liner to support dimensional accuracy and clean edge definition.
