The 3M 7010334234 is a gray, double-sided, pressure-sensitive, closed-cell acrylic foam tape sold under the 3M VHB Tape 4936F product line. At 25 mil thick, it delivers a conformable bond layer that absorbs vibration, cushions impact, and resists plasticizer migration. The tape ships on a paper liner and unrolls to 1 inch wide by 72 yards per roll. It is designed for industrial, commercial, and construction applications where mechanical fasteners or liquid adhesives are impractical. HVAC fabricators, glazing contractors, sign installers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary installers. The foam core adds damping and sealing value beyond simple adhesion, making it suitable for assemblies that see vibration or thermal cycling.
This tape is used where a strong, load-bearing bond is needed between high and medium surface energy substrates such as metals, glass, and many rigid plastics. Common applications include panel bonding, HVAC duct assembly reinforcement, equipment nameplate attachment, weatherstrip backing, and structural glazing trim. The 72-yard roll length reduces changeovers in production or repetitive field work. The gray color blends with metal surfaces and is compatible with most painted, primed, or bare metal substrates commonly found in trade installations.
Designed for bonding high and medium surface energy substrates including bare and painted metals, glass, and rigid plastics. Suitable for industrial, commercial, and construction panel-bonding applications where conformable foam adhesive is required.
Surface preparation is critical — clean bonding surfaces with an appropriate solvent wipe to remove oils, dust, and release agents before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape width immediately after placement to maximize initial adhesion; full bond strength develops over 24 to 72 hours at room temperature. Tape should be applied at temperatures above 50 degrees F for proper wet-out. Do not stretch the tape during application, as this reduces the effective contact area and long-term holding strength.
