The 3M 7010333706 is a gray VHB (Very High Bond) double-sided, closed-cell acrylic foam tape designed for demanding bonding applications. At 25 mil thick, it conforms to irregular surfaces and bonds to high and medium surface energy substrates without mechanical fasteners. The pressure-sensitive adhesive system delivers a durable, load-bearing bond while also providing cushioning, vibration damping, and impact resistance. It carries a UL listing under 746C, making it suitable for use in assemblies where flammability and material compatibility requirements apply. Each roll measures 0.5 inches wide by 72 yards long and ships with a paper liner for handling convenience.
This tape is widely used in construction, manufacturing, HVAC equipment assembly, signage, panel bonding, and general industrial fabrication where a clean, fastener-free attachment is required. It performs well in applications where plasticizer migration from PVC or other flexible materials would degrade standard adhesives. The closed-cell foam core resists moisture intrusion at the bond line, making it appropriate for both indoor and outdoor installations. Installers use it to mount trim, attach nameplates, bond dissimilar materials, and seal or cushion components in assemblies subject to vibration or thermal cycling.
Designed for bonding to high and medium surface energy substrates including metals, glass, and many rigid plastics. Suitable for use in assemblies requiring UL 746C-compliant tape materials.
Surface preparation is critical — clean bonding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry completely before application. Apply firm, even pressure across the full tape length to ensure full adhesive contact; a roller tool is recommended for consistent results. Minimum application temperature and substrate surface energy should be verified against project requirements before permanent installation. Do not stretch the tape during application, as this reduces effective contact area and long-term bond strength.
