The 3M 7010331690 is a single-coated, open-cell urethane foam tape sold under the 4116 product line in a natural color finish. The tape features a thick, rigid foam construction with a paper liner and measures 0.25 inches wide by 36 yards long at a 62 mil (approximately 1/16 inch) thickness. It is designed for bonding plastic components while simultaneously providing cushioning and shock absorption in assemblies. HVAC, equipment assembly, and light industrial technicians use this tape for gasketing, vibration damping, and component mounting applications.
This tape is suited for applications requiring a compressible, open-cell foam medium that conforms slightly under pressure while maintaining its structure. Typical use cases include bonding plastic housings, panel liners, and trim pieces where both adhesion and impact buffering are needed. The paper liner protects the adhesive layer during handling and is removed at the point of application. Sold as a single roll.
Designed as an OEM-style bonding and gasketing tape suitable for plastic component assembly, light panel mounting, and vibration-damping applications across HVAC, electrical, and general equipment maintenance trades.
Surface preparation is critical — clean and dry the bonding surface before applying the tape to ensure proper adhesion. Power down or de-energize any equipment before applying tape to internal components or electrical enclosures. Cut to length using a straight edge and utility knife. Press firmly along the full tape length after application to activate the adhesive bond.
