The 3M 7010329838 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for surface preparation and finishing work across a wide range of metal applications. Built on an aluminum oxide grain with a resin bond and scrim reinforcement, this 130-inch by 5-inch belt handles blending, deburring, fine finishing, flat finishing, and stainless steel finishing tasks. The open-web nonwoven construction resists loading and minimizes heat build-up, which extends operating time and delivers consistent, repeatable surface results throughout the belt's service life.
This belt suits metalworking environments where consistent surface conditioning is required on flat stock, contoured parts, or edges. Typical applications include blending weld lines, cleaning surfaces, setting brushed grain patterns, removing mill marks and grind lines, and attaining straightline-brushed finishes. The conformable nonwoven structure keeps the abrasive in consistent contact with complex-shaped workpieces, making it well suited for both manual and robotic processing lines handling ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Designed for use on a variety of metals including stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other ferrous and non-ferrous materials. Fits belt finishing and polishing machines that accept 130-inch by 5-inch belts.
Installation and belt changes should be performed by qualified metalworking or maintenance personnel with the machine powered down and locked out per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Verify the belt tracking and tension settings on the machine before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for damage before each use and do not exceed the maximum operating speed rating of the machine or the belt.
