The 3M 7010329837 is a Scotch-Brite surface conditioning belt designed for detail work across a wide range of metalworking applications. Built on a reinforced nonwoven open-web construction with an aluminum oxide abrasive and resin bond, this belt delivers consistent surface conditioning results without the excessive heat buildup common with conventional abrasive belts. The open-web structure resists loading, extending usable belt life and maintaining finish consistency throughout the cut. It is installed and used by metalworkers, fabricators, and finishing technicians working in both production and custom shop environments.
This belt is suited for blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, flat finishing, and attaining straightline-brushed or stainless steel finishes on a variety of metals. Its conformable construction keeps the abrasive in continuous contact with complex-shaped workpieces, making it well suited for robotic and automated processing as well as hand-guided belt finishing. The belt removes surface imperfections, grind lines, mill marks, and other blemishes efficiently without aggressive stock removal.
Designed as a replacement or replenishment belt for belt finishing machines and robotic finishing systems that accept a 13-inch by 5.5-inch belt configuration.
Installation is performed by metalworking or finishing technicians following the belt grinder or finishing machine manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Power down and de-energize the machine before removing or installing the belt. Confirm belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's specifications before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or edge damage prior to each use and do not operate a damaged belt.
