The 3M 7010329332 is a 5-inch non-woven abrasive disc in the Scotch-Brite 7447 PRO series, designed for cleaning, scuffing, surface prep, and light finishing on metals and plastics. It uses a very fine grade aluminum oxide abrasive bonded within open-web nylon fibers, delivering a consistent scratch pattern across flat and contoured surfaces. The Hook It backing mounts directly to a compatible Hook It back-up pad on a random orbital sander, making disc changes fast without adhesives or threads. Licensed trades and skilled finishers reach for this disc when steel wool or wire brushes would contaminate the surface or leave rust behind.
This disc fits surface preparation workflows in HVAC, plumbing, light fabrication, and general metalworking where consistent scratch patterns matter before coating, brazing, or bonding. It performs equally well on plastics where aggressive abrasives would gouge or warp the substrate. The open-web construction allows the disc to be rinsed and reused, extending service life across multiple jobs. Both wet and dry operation are supported, making it practical for shop or field use.
Designed for use with a compatible 3M Hook It back-up pad on a random orbital sander; back-up pad sold separately. Suitable for use on a variety of metals and plastics in cleaning, scuffing, finishing, and light paint removal applications.
Attach the disc to a Hook It back-up pad mounted on a random orbital sander before powering the tool. Confirm the disc is fully seated on the pad before operation to prevent separation during use. When working on metal surfaces in HVAC or plumbing applications, ensure the work area is clear of flammable materials and that any system being prepped is fully depressurized and de-energized before surface work begins. Dispose of spent discs in accordance with local regulations if used with chemical compounds or coatings.
