The 3M 7010329277 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Film Backed Belt is a non-woven abrasive belt designed for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring applications across a wide range of surface conditioning tasks. Built on a smooth, tough, stretch-resistant nylon film backing, this belt delivers close, consistent cutting action and works well with platens or in any setup where reduced friction on the back of the belt is required. The aluminum oxide (AO) mineral is resin-bonded to the non-woven fiber matrix, and the belt measures 60 inches in length by 25 inches in width. Fabricators, metalworkers, and industrial finishing professionals rely on this belt for repeatable, controlled surface results.
This belt is suited for industrial and production environments where consistent surface conditioning is critical. It performs well on stroke sanders and flat-platen belt grinding setups. Common applications include weld blending on metal fabrications, deburring machined components, and surface preparation ahead of coating or painting. The open fiber structure helps prevent loading when working with soft metals, composites, or other materials that generate fine debris. It is sold individually and is available in a range of grades, minerals, and converted forms to match specific finish requirements.
Designed for use on stroke sanders, flat-platen belt grinders, and similar belt sanding equipment that accepts a 60-inch by 25-inch abrasive belt.
Belt installation and replacement should be performed by qualified personnel familiar with abrasive belt equipment. Power down and lock out the sander before changing belts. Verify belt tracking and tension according to the equipment manufacturer's guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for damage before each use and replace immediately if tears, fraying, or splice separation are observed.
