The 3M 7010329276 is a Scotch-Brite SC-BF Surface Conditioning Film Backed Belt designed for cleaning, finishing, blending, and deburring operations across metal fabrication and maintenance applications. The belt uses aluminum oxide mineral bonded with resin onto a smooth, stretch-resistant nylon film backing. That film backing reduces friction against platens and stroke sanders, allowing consistent contact pressure across the workpiece. Gaps between the nylon fibers let swarf and debris escape, reducing loading and extending belt life. As the fibers wear, fresh mineral is exposed, delivering a repeatable cut throughout the life of the belt.
This belt is suited for use on stroke sanders, backstand grinders, and platen-equipped belt finishing machines in metal fabrication shops, maintenance facilities, and general industrial settings. It handles a wide range of tasks including light deburring of machined parts, surface blending on weldments, and pre-finish cleaning on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The film backing makes it particularly effective in applications where reduced back-of-belt friction is needed to prevent heat buildup or workpiece distortion. It is sold individually and is available in multiple grades and mineral types within the SC-BF product line.
Designed for use on belt finishing machines, stroke sanders, and backstand grinders that accept belts measuring 328 inches in length and 6 inches in width with a film-backed non-woven construction.
Belt installation should be performed by qualified personnel following the machine manufacturer's guidelines. Ensure the belt grinder or sander is fully powered down and locked out before changing belts. Verify correct belt tracking and tension before resuming operation. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when handling abrasive belts.
