The 3M 7010329245 Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Belt is a nonwoven abrasive belt designed for detail work on metal surfaces. Built with an aluminum oxide grain bonded in a resin system and supported by a scrim-reinforced backing, this belt handles blending, deburring, cleaning, contour finishing, and straight-line brushed finishes. The open nonwoven web construction reduces loading and heat buildup, allowing for extended run time and consistent results across passes. Measuring 60 inches in length and 6 inches in width, it is sized for standard wide-belt and drum-style finishing machines used in metal fabrication and surface prep applications.
This belt is suited for metalworking operations in both production and job-shop environments. Typical applications include blending weld seams, deburring edges, setting grain on stainless steel, and removing mill marks, grind lines, and other surface imperfections. The conformable nonwoven structure allows the abrasive to maintain contact with complex contours, making it appropriate for both flat and irregular workpieces. It is commonly used by fabricators, machinists, and finishing technicians working with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit consumable for standard wide-belt and drum finishing machines that accept 60-inch by 6-inch abrasive belts used in metal surface conditioning applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machine operator following the equipment manufacturer's belt-change procedure. Disconnect and lock out power to the finishing machine before replacing the belt. Verify belt tracking and tension according to machine specifications before resuming operation. Always wear appropriate PPE, including eye protection and gloves, when handling abrasive belts.
